Patron-driven acquisition (PDA) and ebooks - a summer talk (2012)

To help the ebooks@cambridge service to make an informed decision about experimenting with a PDA purchasing model, Sarah Thompson, Content Acquisition Librarian at the University of York, visited Cambridge to speak to us about her experiences of running PDA pilots at York University Library, including:

  • what she has learnt from running a PDA scheme with various aggregators (including MyiLibrary and ebrary)
  • which models and suppliers have worked best and why
  • her work towards setting up a new PDA programme for York starting Autumn Term 2012
  • data on the ongoing usage of titles purchased by PDA

Her presentation is available here: Cambridge_PDA_28.6.12.pptx
